2 1/2 cup flour
1 egg yolk
1/4 c shortening
1/2 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1/2 t. lemon zest
2 C vegetable oil for frying
1 1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon of orange zest
Place the flour on board making a well in the center.
Place the eggs, egg yolk, shortening, sugar, salt and lemon zest in the well.
Mix well by working the dough with your hands.
Form very small balls, the size of marbles.
Let the dough balls sit for about 15-20 minutes, covered with damp paper towels, while you heat the oil in a deep pot.
Drop the balls, a few at a time in hot oil (350 degrees) until golden brown.
They will float, just flip them a bit for even browning.
Melt the honey in a saucepan and add the orange zest.
As soon as the balls are fried, take them out of the oil directly into the honey pot.
Let them float in there for about 30 seconds.
Take them out of the honey with a slotted spoon, place them on a serving dish, stacking them in a conical shape.
Sprinkle with non-like while the honey is still hot.
