Tater Tot Casserole

Here’s a comforting and classic Tater Tot Casserole recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (32 oz) frozen Tater Tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked beef, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Mix well.
  4. Assemble the casserole: Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Add Tater Tots: Arrange the frozen Tater Tots in a single layer over the beef mixture.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the Tater Tots are crispy and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Garnish and serve: Optional, sprinkle chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
