Slow Cooker Barbequed Beef Ribs

I bought pork chops and went to prepare them for the crock pot in the morning when I realized I didn’t have any barbecue sauce! I had never made barbecue sauce from nothing before, so I went to 77recipes.com like I always do. I chose this one because I had all the ingredients on hand. It was VERY good! I doubled the recipe… and added a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to spice it up with the sweetness. I did as another poster said and omitted the water. It was too liquid for me, I like a thicker sauce. I also added honey. It’s not too sweet at all. In fact, I would add more brown sugar next time, and honey, with cayenne pepper. It’s a great basic BBQ sauce to modify as you wish! I also grilled the ribs first as I always do. And I added a large onion in the slow cooker. I cooked it over low heat for 7 hours and it was delicious! =)”

“This recipe was excellent. I seasoned the ribs with salt and pepper and then grilled them on all sides before adding them to the slow cooker. The cooking resulted in a nice caramelized crust on the outside of the ribs. I cooked them for 7 hours on low heat. As there was a little bit of fat, I simply absorbed it on top with tongs and a paper towel. Great!”

To make this recipe, you need the following ingredients:

1 cup ketchup
