There’s many ways people make their tortillas. I’ve tried different ways but always come back to this recipe! They never fail me!

Ingredients:
3 cups of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of salt
1/3 cup of oil
1 cup of hot water
I do the first 3 ingredients, mix around and add oil, incorporate the oil in all the flour, then add hot water.
Instructions:
Mix around until dough forms and no water is left. Knead until it’s not sticking to your fingers anymore.
Wrap with a kitchen towel for 20 to 30 mins.
When time is up, pull apart pieces, should be about 12. Form into balls, even and smooth.
Surface your counter with flour, and also your rolling pin should always be floured.
Then start rolling them out. But, you have to roll one piece, rotate, roll another rotate, roll another, flip, repeat until circle and size form.
You don’t want to make them to thinned out, cause your tortillas will be too thin.
I roll all of them out, and have my comal heating up on medium heat.
Then I start.
I put it on the comal until I see bubbles forming, usually 20 seconds, then flip, 20 seconds, flip again 20 seconds, at this time you will see the tortilla make a whole bubble, (that’s how you really know they’re right) flip one more time 20 seconds and remove.
I store in a gallon size ziplock bag when cooled down. I have a tortilla holder, but don’t like it, because the moisture gets on the tortillas and makes them soggy.
Hope I wasn’t too complicated!
Enjoy!!!!!
