Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients (makes about 24 cookies)
-
1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
-
2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
-
4 large eggs
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon baking powder
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
2 cups (350 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
Optional: 1 cup (100 g) chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven: 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
-
Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
Mix dry into wet: Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
-
Add chocolate chips (and nuts): Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.
-
Scoop onto baking sheet: Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
-
Bake: 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly undercooked — they will set as the cookies cool.
-
Cool: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips
-
Use room temperature butter and eggs for a smoother dough.
-
Don’t overbake — you want soft, chewy centers.
-
You can double the chocolate chips for extra indulgence!
