Lemon Cream Cheese Bars

These bars have a lovely cookie crust and a sharp lemon taste.

Flour, 2 cups
2 sticks of butter 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt (1 Cup) Filling: salted butter, cut into little cubes
a half cup of sugar
a quarter cup of flour
4 whole large eggs 4 medium-sized lemons, zest and juice Powdered sugar for sifting

To make the crust: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter a 9-by-13-inch baking pan. Use a 9×9 pan instead if you want a thicker crust.
Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Toss in the butter and chop it all together with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until brown around the edges, in the prepared pan.
To make the filling, combine the sugar and flour in a mixing bowl. Whisk together the eggs after cracking them in.
Mix in the lemon zest and juice until everything is well mixed. Bake for 20 minutes after pouring over the crust.
Allow it chill for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator before sifting powdered sugar over the top and cutting into squares.
Refrigerate any leftover lemon bars.
