APPLE PIE WITH CRUMB TOPPING

This is the best apple pie I have ever made! The tender, flaky crust filled with sweet juicy apples coated in cinnamon with a delicious crumb topping on top makes this dessert stand out! Serve a big slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top for that dreamy dessert that everyone will love!

This apple pie is an amazing dessert to serve after any meal. And It is my favorite and go-to for any occasion, especially on Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

Pie Crust (homemade or use refrigerated)

Apples – about 8

1 tsp Cinnamon

¾ c. Brown Sugar

¼ c. Corn Starch

1 ¼ c. Flour

Vanilla

¾ c. White Sugar

1 c. Pecans

Butter, 2 sticks plus a bit more for buttering the pan

How to make Apple Pie with Crumb Topping

Step 1: Grease the pan with butter, then press the crust gently onto the pan. Set aside.

Step 2: In the meantime, peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss the apples in brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch until well coated.

Step 3: Into the crust, spread the apples and lightly sprinkle with vanilla. Into thin pats, cut about half a stick of butter and place them on top of the apples.

Step 4: In a bowl, place the flour and white sugar. Mix well. Then, cut in the rest of the butter using a pastry blender or fork. Lastly, stir in the pecans.

Step 5: Overt the apples and sprinkle the topping.

Step 6: In the bottom half of the oven, place the pie and bake for about 75 to 90 minutes at 350 degrees. I place a baking sheet beneath to catch the drippings as the pie begins to bubble.

Step 7: When done, take the pie out of the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool.

Step 8: Slice and serve the apple pie warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
