When ready to serve, thaw them and bake and sauce following the recipe. You can also make these bacon-wrapped water chestnuts keto-friendly by replacing the sauce with sugar-free BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
1 package of center-cut bacon
1 can whole water chestnuts
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 c. ketchup
Toothpicks
1 c. brown sugar
How to make Bacon wrapped water chestnuts
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: In thirds, slice the pieces of bacon. Wrap 1 piece of the bacon around 1 water chestnut. To secure the bacon, put a toothpick through the bacon and water the chestnut.
Step 3: Using a non-stick spray, grease a foil-lined cookie sheet. On the pan, place the wrapped water chestnuts.
Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
Step 5: In the meantime, place the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat until the brown sugar has dissolved. Then, take the pan off the heat.
Step 6: Take the water chestnuts out of the oven after 25 minutes of baking and pour the sauce over them. Return to the oven and continue to bake for additional 25 minutes.
Step 7: When done, serve the Bacon wrapped water chestnuts warm. Enjoy!
