Best Jello Cookies

As the weather is getting warmer in AZ, we have to offer more and more activities indoors. My son had so much fun helping me with these jelly cookies. It was one of our favorite activities. He keeps begging me to do the “jeylo playdough and cookies!”

The advantage of this recipe is that you can turn it into homemade play dough. Wash the children’s hands (and the countertop of course) and then let their imagination run wild!

Once we were tired of playing with the dough, we rolled them into balls and dipped them in powdered sugar.

To obtain the appearance of the flower, simply crush them with the bottom of a bowl. 🙂

Yield :

YIELD : 24-30 cookies

Ingredients :

3⁄4 cup margarine or 3⁄4 cup butter
1⁄2 cup of sugar
1 package (3 ounces) gelatin jelly, all flavors
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1⁄2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking yeast
1 teaspoon of salt

Preparation :

In a medium to large bowl, mix margarine, sugar, jelly and eggs.
Add remaining ingredients.
Mix well.
Roll the dough into small balls and place on a greased and floured cookie sheet.
Flatten each ball with a fork.
(Sometimes a little flour on the fork prevents the dough from sticking).
Bake for 6-8 minutes at 350 degrees.
