Broccoli Lasagna and White Sauce
Ingredients for broccoli lasagna and white sauce
1 package precooked lasagna pasta (500g)
300g sliced mozzarella cheese
Grated parmesan cheese for sprinkling
3 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
3 Tbsp wheat flour
5 cups milk
Salt, black pepper and grated nutmeg to taste
2 cups heavy cream
1 and 1/2 cups diced bacon
5 cups chopped broccoli sticks
1/2 cup chopped parsley greens
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the white sauce, melt the butter in a pan over medium heat and saute the onion for 3 minutes. Sprinkle the flour and saute for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour in the milk, little by little, stirring constantly until it thickens. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg, add the heavy cream and set aside.
For the filling, in a pan, over medium heat, saute the bacon in its own fat until golden brown. Add the broccoli and saute for 3 minutes or until wilted. Add the parsley, salt, pepper and mix together. In a large baking dish, alternate layers of sauce, pasta, broccoli and cheese, ending with pasta and sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake in a preheated medium oven for 40 minutes. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving
