This has never been a pizza that has scared me away. I love the classic cheeseburger and we know everyone loves pizza. Why not combine the two loves into one. I realize that there are many people who cannot imagine a cheeseburger pizza, which is foolish to me. Putting ground beef should not seem odd to anyone, it is another meat.
Just like every other pizza in the world, you can add the toppings that you prefer on this pizza. Personally, I love making a cheeseburger with the usual toppings such as bacon, tomatoes, pickles and onions. I bet if those doubters would try, they would likely fall in love with this pizza also.
1 tube of pre-made pizza dough
1 pound ground beef
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ cup ketchup
2 tbsp mustard
2 cups Cheddar Cheese, freshly shredded
Preheat the oven to 375*
Place the dough onto the bottom of the cast iron skillet
Press the dough across the bottom and up the sides of the skillet
In another skillet, place the ground beef, crumble and add the onions.
Cook on medium high heat until meat is done and onions have softened
Drain the grease from the pan
In a small bowl combine the ketchup and the mustard
Spread the mix on the crust in the skillet
Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top of the sauce
Carefully spread the meat across the cheese in an even layer
Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the meat
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes
Remove from the oven and top with the choice of optional toppings
Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving
