CHEESY SMOKED SAUSAGE AND POTATO CASSEROLE

If you have sausage in your fridge right now, don’t sleep on this amazing recipe! It’s time to take those sausages to the next level. This awesome dish is smokey, cheesy, and creamy! All the things I look for in a meal. A full-packed meal that will surely satisfy your very soul. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

3 cups potatoes, peeled, boiled, and cubed

1 lb. skinless smoked sausage

4 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons flour

2 cups of milk

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

⅛ teaspoon paprika

½ lb. Velveeta cheese cubed

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Step 1: Cut the skinless smoked sausage into two and slice it lengthwise.

Step 2: Chop the sliced sausage into small pieces.

Step 3: Place frying pan on the stove and drizzle a little of olive oil.

Step 4: Turn the heat to medium and add the sliced potatoes and cook for about 15 minutes or until the colour turns brown.

Step 5: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 6: Transfer the potatoes in a prepared 2-quart casserole dish.

Step 7: Add the meat and toss to mix all the ingredients.

Step 8: Place a saucepan on the stove. Add the milk, flour, butter, Velveeta, salt, and pepper.

Step 9: Turn the heat to medium and stir until the butter is melted and warm.

Step 10: Remove from the heat and pour the mixture on top of the meat and potatoes.

Step 11: Sprinkle Cheddar cheese and paprika on top.

Step 12: Bake inside the preheated oven for about 35 to 45 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely and the top turns golden brown.

Step 13: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature to cool for at least 5 minutes.

Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
