This French Toast Bake is my favorite breakfast and my kids’ most requested! This is made with a couple of simple ingredients. This French Toast Bake has the familiar flavors of your usual French Toast but better! You can easily feed the crowd with this. Prep this French Toast Bake the night before and just pop it in the oven the next day. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with pure maple syrup before serving.
Ingredients
4 large eggs
½ c. melted butter (1 stick)
1 loaf Texas Toast, fresh sliced bread (Not frozen)
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1½ c. whole milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Powdered sugar
Real maple syrup, if desired
2 tbsp light brown sugar, mixed with 2 tsp cinnamon
HOW TO MAKE FRENCH TOAST BAKE
Step 1: In a microwave bowl, place the butter. Heat the microwave until melted. Then, add a cup of brown sugar and mix well until blended. Into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan, pour the butter-sugar mixture and evenly spread.
Step 2: Whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla until well blended. Set aside.
Step 3: Over the butter-sugar mixture, make a layer of Texas Toast. On top, evenly spread 1 c. of the egg and sprinkle with the brown sugar-cinnamon mix. Create another layer of the French Toast and repeat the other layers – egg and cinnamon mix.
Step 4: Tightly tent the pan and place it in the fridge overnight.
Step 5: In the morning, place the baking pan on the low middle rack of the oven and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees F. Bake while covered for 30 minutes, then remove the cover and finish baking.
Step 6: Remove the French Toast Bake out of the oven when done and let it cool for a little. Before serving, sprinkle the bake with powdered sugar and drizzle with pure maple syrup. Enjoy!
