SLOW COOKER CHICKEN BREASTS WITH GRAVY

This slow cooker chicken and gravy are amazing, filling, and easy weeknight dinner. A very comforting meal with tons of wonderful flavors. Easily make this in your slow cooker and serve it with rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes. You can also enjoy this dish with a side of your favorite veggies.

Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 packets of chicken gravy mix

2 c. water

1 (10.5 ounces) can cream of chicken soup

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ c. sour cream

½ teaspoon paprika

Sliced green onions or chopped chives – optional for garnish

½ teaspoon kosher salt

¼ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper

HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER CHICKEN BREASTS WITH GRAVY

Step 1: Place the garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika in a small bowl. Mix well until combined.

Step 2: With garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika mixture, season all sides of the chicken breasts.

Step 3: Mix the gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, and water in a slow cooker until smooth. Then, add the chicken breasts, flipping to coat all sides with the gravy mixture.

Step 4: Put the lid on and cook for 6 to 8 hours on low.

Step 5: Carefully take the chicken out of the slow cooker and shred or cut.

Step 6: Into the slow cooker, stir in the sour cream until smooth. Serve this over the chicken. Enjoy!

Optional Ideas:

Pair the chicken with rice, egg noodles, or mashed potatoes.

If desired, you can garnish the chicken with some sliced green onions or chopped chives.

Notes:

You can swap the sour cream with Greek yogurt if desired.

To thicken the gravy, mix 2 tbsp cold water and 2 tbsp cornstarch until well blended. Stir this into the gravy once the cooking time has ended. Replace the lid and cook for another 10 minutes or until the gravy has thickened.
