This homemade cheeseburger macaroni recipe is a fantastic Hamburger Helper knockoff! This made-from-scratch cheesy spaghetti dish uses materials you probably already have in your cupboard or refrigerator. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken
cornstarch, 1 tbsp
paprika, 2 tsp
1 teaspoon powdered onion
1 teaspoon powdered garlic
season with salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 cup boiling water
2 quarts of milk
1 1/2 cups macaroni and cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions:
Brown your ground beef in a big skillet or pot (you’ll be adding a lot of liquid) ahead of time.
Remove the fat from the meat and return it to the pan/pot.
Bring the spices, water, pasta, and milk to a boil.
Reduce the heat to a low level and continue to cook until the pasta is done.
Turn off the heat and add the cheddar cheese.
Stir constantly until the cheese is completely melted.
