Ingredients

  • 2 lb (900g) ground beef
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
  • 12 taco shells (hard or soft, your choice)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • Toppings of your choice: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped onions, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, guacamole, or cilantro.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Beef:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
    • Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning according to the package instructions.
  3. Combine the Mixture:
    • Add the refried beans to the skillet with the cooked beef. Mix until well combined and heated through.
  4. Prepare the Tacos:
    • Arrange the taco shells in a 9×13-inch baking dish, standing them upright.
    • Fill each shell with the beef and bean mixture, about 2-3 tablespoons per shell.
  5. Add Cheese:
    Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of each filled taco.
  6. Bake:
    Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the taco shells are slightly crisp.
  7. Serve:
    Remove the tacos from the oven and add your favorite toppings. Serve immediately with a side of rice, beans, or tortilla chips.
