  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet works great; use milk chocolate for a sweeter bite or dark for richer flavor.
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk The magic that sweetens and gives the fudge its creamy body.
  • 1/2 cup butter Unsalted is fine; salted adds a nice contrast if preferred.

  1. Combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Stir continuously until everything is melted and smooth, which usually takes about 3–5 minutes on low.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch square pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  4. Let it cool at room temperature or refrigerate until firm (about 1–2 hours).
  5. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for 1–2 weeks. For freezing, wrap squares individually and freeze up to 3 months.
