Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 300 g beef (flank steak, hanger steak, or chuck roast), thinly sliced Ensure the beef is at room temperature before cooking.
  • 2 medium onions, peeled and thinly sliced into half-rings Slice as thinly as possible for the best texture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • Olive oil (for cooking)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Beef broth (optional for a richer sauce)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for about 5–7 minutes until the onions are tender and begin to turn golden brown.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the thinly sliced beef. Cook for another 5–7 minutes until the beef is well browned.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. If you’re using beef broth, pour it into the pan and let it simmer for about 3–5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Serve hot, paired with crusty bread or over pasta.

Notes

To elevate the flavor, consider adding a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce. Ensure proper searing of the beef to maintain juicy texture. Avoid overcooking to prevent toughness.
