  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil For frying.

Optional Ingredients

  • to taste Chopped onions
  • to taste JalapeƱos For those who like spice.
  • optional Fresh basil or parsley For garnish.

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Break it up as it browns.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning while it cooks for 6-8 minutes.
  • Drain excess grease, return to heat, and pour in enough pizza sauce to create a meaty mixture. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Assembling the Tacos

  • Take a tortilla and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on one half.
  • Spoon a pile of the hot beef mixture on top and layer with pepperoni slices.
  • Fold the tortilla to make a taco, being careful not to overload it.

Frying the Tacos

  • Wipe out the skillet and add a splash of olive oil.
  • Fry the tacos one or two at a time, cooking each side for about 2 minutes or until golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Keep them covered until all tacos are done.

Serving

  • Serve warm, optionally with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

Don't overstuff the tacos to prevent blowouts. For crispy tacos, brush more oil before the second flip. Leftovers reheat well.
