Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually mix into the creamed mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until edges are lightly toasted.
- Let cool on wire racks.
Notes
For chewier centers, underbake by a minute or cool on the pan before transferring to wire racks. For crisp cookies, flatten slightly before baking.
