Ingredients

For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp is preferred over frozen.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Can be substituted with olive oil for a lighter alternative.
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced Use more if you're a garlic lover.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley For garnish.
  • Lemon wedges For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat down your shrimp with a paper towel to help them sear instead of steam. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts bubbling.
  2. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they’re pink. Flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they are opaque and slightly firm to the touch.
  4. Remove the pan from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Keep an eye on the shrimp as they cook to avoid them becoming rubbery. This dish can be served with rice, salad, or vegetables. Can be made ahead of time but is best enjoyed fresh.
