Additions

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet preferred, but dark enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla.
  • Mix in Nutella until fully combined.

Combining Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts.

Baking

  • Scoop about 1½ tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll into balls, and space them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges look lightly golden but centers are still soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30-60 minutes before baking for ultra chewy cookies. Toasting hazelnuts enhances their flavor.
