Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or your favorite variety)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed sugar and butter until just combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Using a rounded spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn a perfect golden brown.
  2. Let the cookies cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

Make sure the butter is at room temperature for the best blending results. Feel free to use dark chocolate chips for a richer taste, or even add nuts for an extra crunch!
