Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 cups baby potatoes, halved
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method

Cooking the Potatoes
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the halved baby potatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cook until golden brown and tender, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove the potatoes from the skillet and set aside.
Cooking the Steak
  1. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then add it to the skillet. Cook to your desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes per side for medium rare.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet in the last minute of cooking. Stir it in.
Combining and Serving
  1. Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet, stirring to combine with the garlic butter steak.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Let your steak come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. For softer garlic flavor, consider using roasted garlic. You can swap the baby potatoes for any kind of potato and adjust cooking time as needed. To make it healthier, use olive oil instead of butter.
