  • 500 g ground chicken breast Freshly ground is best for flavor.
  • 1 piece onion, grated Adds moisture and sweetness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced A punch of flavor.
  • 1 slice stale bread or 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs Stale bread is best to soak up juices.
  • 1 piece egg Keeps burgers juicy.
  • to taste salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, cumin Adjust seasonings as desired.
  • 4 pieces burger buns Soft, fluffy, lightly toasted.
  • to taste lettuce leaves, tomato slices, pickled cucumber For crunch and freshness.
  • 4 slices sliced cheddar cheese For that melty goodness.
  • to taste mayonnaise, ketchup, special sauce Choose your favorites.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, grated onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs (or soaked stale bread), egg, and seasonings. Mix gently with hands.
  • Cover and chill the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Form the mixture into 4 thick patties, around 1 inch thick.
  • Heat oil in a skillet or preheat the grill. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F if using a thermometer).
  • Just before finishing, top each patty with a slice of cheddar and cover to melt the cheese.
  • Toast burger buns in a dry skillet or under the broiler until crisp.

Assembly

  • Spread sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, then cheesy chicken patty, tomato, pickles, and more sauce. Cap with the top bun.

Serving

  • Serve hot with your favorite sides like fries or a fresh salad.

Notes

Chill the mixture for better patty cohesion. Avoid overcrowding the pan. Toast buns to prevent sogginess. Freezable for up to 2 months.
