Ingredients

Cake Ingredients
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Includes ingredients listed on the box: usually oil, water, and eggs
Ice Cream and Toppings
  • 1 liter vanilla ice cream softened
  • 1 jar hot fudge chocolate sauce about 350 g / 12 oz
  • Whipped cream optional
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by baking the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box. Typically, mix the cake mix with oil, water, and eggs, pour into a baking pan, and bake until a toothpick comes out clean (usually around 25-30 minutes). Let it cool completely.
  2. Once the cake has cooled, carefully slice it in half horizontally. Take one layer and spread a generous amount of softened vanilla ice cream over it. Place the other half of the cake on top of the ice cream layer to create a sandwich.
  3. Gently pour the hot fudge chocolate sauce over the top layer of the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
  4. Place the entire cake in the freezer for about 1–2 hours to firm up before serving.
  5. Once chilled, slice into pieces and serve with a dollop of whipped cream and optional chocolate shavings or sprinkles.

Notes

Try different cake mixes or ice cream flavors for variations. Pairs beautifully with fresh berries or fruit compote.
