Ingredients

Burger Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, and condiments (optional) Add as desired

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into equal portions and gently shape them into patties. Do not overwork the meat.
  3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  2. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  3. Toast the hamburger buns in the skillet for a minute if desired.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the burgers with your choice of toppings and condiments. Serve hot.

Notes

Let the patties sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before cooking for more even cooking. For extra richness, brown the butter slightly before adding the patties. Keep patties loosely packed to avoid a dense burger.
