  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk the secret to creamy, stable fudge
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted or salted, depending on preference

Method

Preparation
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter cut into pieces.
  2. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir the mixture vigorously.
  3. Microwave for an additional 30 seconds, then stir again. Continue microwaving in 10-15 second bursts until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  5. Refrigerate until set, about 1-2 hours, then cut into squares.

Notes

For faster setting, pop the fudge in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
