Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork tenderloin Aim for even size for consistent cooking.
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce Store-bought or homemade with ginger for extra zing.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Keeps everything tender and juicy.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds savory aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder Essential for authentic teriyaki flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Brings everything together.
  • sesame seeds Toasted for garnish.
  • chopped green onions For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  • Place the pork tenderloin in a resealable bag or bowl and pour the marinade over it. Massage to coat all sides and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high. Gas grills should preheat for about 10 minutes, while charcoal should have glowing red coals with light ash.

Grilling

  • Remove the pork from the marinade, sprinkling with salt and pepper. Grill for 20-25 minutes, turning every 5 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Let the pork rest for 5 minutes before slicing into medallions. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate for 24 hours. Always allow the pork to rest to retain moisture. To make extra teriyaki drizzle, reserve some marinade and simmer it on the stove before serving. For variations, consider using chicken or adding grilled pineapple.
