All you need are just a couple of simple ingredients. Serve this mouthwatering, tender cubed steak over rice, and do not forget to top it with the rich, savory sauce!
Ingredients
4 cubed steaks (about 2 lbs)
1 ½ c. water
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can French onion soup
1 packet Au Jus Gravy mix
3 tbsp cornstarch
¼ c. water
How to make Instant Pot Cubed Steak and Gravy
Step 1: Into an Instant Pot, pour 1 ½ cups water, French onion soup, cream of chicken soup, and a packet of au just gravy mix. Mix well until blended.
Step 2: Toss in the cubed steak, coating the pieces in the gravy.
Step 3: Close the lid of the Instant Pot and turn the valve to “Sealing”. Set to cook for 20 minutes on Manual High Pressure.
Step 4: Carefully turn the valve to “Venting” after cooking (Quick Release), then let the rest of the steam release before unlocking the lid.
Step 5: Set the Instant Pot to saute, then take the cubed steaks out.
Step 6: Place ¼ c water and cornstarch in a small bowl or measuring cup. Mix well to make a slurry.
Step 7: Into the gravy mixture, add the slurry mixture and stir well. Cook while stirring until the gravy has thickened. Return the cubed steak to the Pot and cook until warm. Then, turn the Instant Pot off.
Step 8: Over mashed potatoes, serve the cubed steak with gravy. Enjoy right away!
Note:
You can replace French Onion Soup with low-sodium beef consomme or beef broth.
