1 lb. lean ground beef
1 large chopped onion
3 cups chopped celery
1 package fresh mushrooms, quartered
1 can of sliced water chestnuts
1 1/2 cups water
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water

Cooked rice, chow mein noodles

Brown beef and onion. Drain. Stir in the next 9 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Stir in the cornstarch and water. Cook until thickened. Serve over rice.
