Fried Chicken

Here’s a simple classic American fried chicken recipe—crispy outside, juicy inside.

🍗 Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (cut into pieces)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

🔥 Instructions

1. Marinate

  • Place chicken in buttermilk
  • Cover and refrigerate for 4–12 hours
👉 This makes the meat tender and juicy

2. Prepare coating

  • Mix flour + spices in a large bowl
  • Adjust salt and spice to taste

3. Coat chicken

  • Remove chicken from buttermilk
  • Dredge each piece in seasoned flour
  • Press coating firmly for extra crunch

4. Fry

  • Heat oil to 175°C (350°F)
  • Fry chicken in batches (don’t overcrowd)
  • Cook 12–18 minutes, turning occasionally
  • Chicken should be golden brown and fully cooked inside

5. Rest

  • Place on paper towels or rack
  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving
